John Mayer Denies Cheating On Jennifer Aniston

John Mayer has denied reports that Jennifer Aniston ditched him because of his roving eye.

In fact, the singer claims that it was he who did the dumping - because things weren't working out.

"There's no lying, there's no cheating, there's no nothing...," People quotes Mayer as saying.

"People are different, people have different chemistry. I ended a relationship to be alone, because I don't want to waste somebody's time if something's not right."

Mayer proved he had nothing but praise for his ex, adding: "Jennifer Aniston is the smartest, most sophisticated person I think I have ever met."

The pair hooked up in April and were recently the subject of marriage rumours.

Since the split, Jen has reportedly asked pals to find her a date.
